John Colm, president of WIRE-Net — a membership-based, economic development organization serving manufacturing business leaders, and co-sponsor, David Fout, president of MAGNET — (Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network), an Edison Center funded by the Ohio Department of Development,  also providing Manufacturing Extension Program (MEP) services, home of the Third Frontier’s Center of Excellence in Innovation, and managing the Cuyahoga County Entrepreneur Loan Fund join resources to convene a regional Manufacturing Summit from Friday, February 27th through lunch on Saturday, February 28th at The Club at Key Center. The Summit is at no charge to qualifying stakeholders; parking is included.

Lieutenant Governor, Lee Fisher will present the Ohio plan for economic development, focusing on Hubs of Innovation and Opportunity.

The program is packed with opportunity and several regional manufacturing leaders who have experience in turning around companies, motivating employees, and making a profit in a tough economy will present.

Among them are:

  • Bill Brake, Executive Vice President, Cliffs Natural Resources and CEO of Renewafuel LLC, a new venture which produces biomass fuel cubes.
