Ever wonder who makes the Ford or Chevrolet logos that sparkle so, or who makes the bottle top on your Tiffany perfume bottle that makes you feel so good in the morning, or who makes your kitchen faucet brilliant and shiny so all you have to do is wipe it with a soft cloth?

Let me introduce you to A-Brite Plating, Cleveland, OH.

A-Brite Plating is a leader in plated plastics serving customers worldwide. They plate logos, shiny knobs and other features for companies such as Ford, GM, Chrysler, along with faucets and other plumbing fixtures, salt and pepper grinding mills, football helments, home decorative arts and so much more. If it is plastic, A-Brite can plate it.

Where and when it began

Back in 1946 George Pynchon and Walter Raum founded A-Brite Plating in Cleveland, OH. At that time, their main operation consisted of chrome plating on die cast metal. Plastics were introduced into the A-Brite product line in the early 1970’s.

In the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, both Walter and George retired passing ownership over to Walter’s sons, Walter F. and Richard Raum. During those years A-Brite did both metal and plastic applications until a devastating fire leveled their operation in November 1987.

After some time and a desire to get back into plating, Walt Raum reopened A-Brite at its current site, 3000 West 121 Street in Cleveland with owners Walt Raum, his son Michael,  Kurt Schuster, Hal Leitch, Mojtaba Mir-Salimi, and Herb Gilliam.

In 1999, Walter retired and in 2000, Michael left the business to pursue other interests. As of July 2007 Kurt Schuster retired.

A-Brite is currently owned and operated by Hal Leitch, President, Mojtaba Mir-Salimi, Vice President – Process Control and Herb Gilliam, Vice President – Quality Control.

Sixty years of practical experience results in their expertise to solve just about any plating-on-plastic problem that might arise.

A-Brite's  Lab and Testing capabilities include Thermal Cycle, Coulometric Thickness Testing, CASS Testing, Step Testing, Dupernell Testing, Saw Grind Testing, SPC and SQC Systems Control and we meet EPA Standards.

A-Brite is an environmentally-conscious custom plating experience, servicing  plumbing, appliance, automotive, hardware, electronic, OEM and Custom Injection Molders and the variety of applications, shapes and sizes that go well beyond the capabilities of other plating companies, makes A-Brite your choice for plating on plastics.
